We're on Substack + Very Important News at Embracing Disability
An Update from Founder & CEO Roxy Rocker

Embracing Disability - because a hug knows no disability. (See the new logo with our new tagline.) When I say a hug knows no disability, it’s because at our core, we are one. Stories are what connect us all.
Embracing Disability is first and foremost a media company - which is why we’re going to be launching a Storytelling Initiative & Campaign. Because ALL stories matter. And when you see the name Embracing Disability, I want your first thought to not be, “But I don’t have a disability. This content isn’t for me.” Because remember - a hug knows no disability. In a perfect world, your first thought is going to be that you see the importance and immense value in telling stories of overcoming and beating the odds. Our stories are what tie us all together.
Embracing Disability isn’t just for disabled people to be embraced. It is a call, ask, and plea for all of you to do the embracing.
Here is How You Can Support Embracing Disability:
Subscribe to Us on Substack!
We moved our magazine over to the Substack platform (as you see) - so it’s easier than ever to support Embracing Disability. When you hit the Subscribe button below, you’ll be able to sign up and receive full view of our articles rather than summaries. We’ve had some stellar contributions so far - and send high quality content once every couple of weeks.
Purchase a Media Package / Sponsorship
At the top of this newsletter, you may have noticed our lovely media partner Michele McQuillen. We encourage clicking through to learn more about businesses and organizations who sponsor our work. If you’re seeking visibility and want to be a part of something bigger than yourself, consider partnering with us.
Attend the Cinco De Mayo Party
We’re hosting a fun cinco de mayo party at the She Shed in Abington after work hours (starting at 5pm) with light bites and delightful mocktails courtesy of The Roaming Refresher. (See the adorable menu below.) We’ll be showcasing the new Confidence Journal we recently published alongside this event’s presenting sponsor Melissa J. Pond LLC. Purchase your ticket here and we’d love to see you!

Embracing Disability is Up for an Award
Embracing Disability is just about a year old—and we're already being recognized for our work! We've been nominated for Best News & Media Website in the Boston Business Women Awards.
This nomination is a huge honor. Over the past year, we've worked tirelessly to grow our presence, share our mission, and connect with as many people as possible through our platform. As a media company, we create content that empowers and informs—through our website, our newsletter, our digital magazine, and our Confidence Journal.
We're so excited to be up for this award, and we’d be incredibly grateful for your support. You can vote for Embracing Disability here or by clicking the button below.
You can only vote once, so every vote truly counts. Thank you for helping us continue to make an impact!
